Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gung) is a traditional Chinese moving meditation practice that combines flowing, gentle movements, meditation, and breathing techniques to cultivate and harmonize the body's vital energy, known as "qi". It is a mind-body-spirit practice that aims to improve overall health, well-being, and spiritual cultivation
Qi Gong is similar to Tai Chi. Both are Chinese exercises that focus on energy cultivation and movement, but they differ in their approach. Tai Chi is typically a series of choreographed movements ( forms ) that flow together, often with a martial arts application. It can be more complex and require memorization of the movements. Qi Gong, on the other hand, encompasses a broader range of practices that involve cultivating and balancing the body's vital energy. Qi Gong can be simpler and more adaptable focusing on specific exercises, often repeated, that can be used for healing or energy development.
